New extension for Chellaston Community Centre

Energi Consulting Services Ltd have secured a new commission from Chellaston Community Association (CCA) to design MEP services for the new extension on Chellaston Community Centre. We shall be fully designing the mechanical, electrical & public health (MEP) services to enable the client to obtain estimates from contractors and to ensure the installation is fully co-ordinated on site.

The new extension shall provide community spaces including a large activity suite, kitchen, office and WC's. The external garden area shall also be made more accessible for wheelchair users. Our aim is to offer a design that provides flexible controls and incorporate energy efficiency at every opportunity. We shall be utilising heat pumps and potentially a new PV array on the roof to maximise efficiency and ensure the facility is future proof.

We relish the challenges this type of project brings and we cannot wait to showcase the finished article on completion.

Energi Consulting Services Ltd have secured a new commission from Newbold Parish Church to design MEP services for the new extension on St John's Church in Newbold . We shall be fully designing the mechanical, electrical & public health (MEP) services to enable the client to obtain estimates from contractors and to ensure the installation is fully co-ordinated on site.

The new extension shall provide community spaces including a large hall, meeting room, kitchen and WC's. Our aim is to offer a design that is sympathetic to the heritage of the building but adding a modern look with a view to incorporate energy efficiency at every opportunity.

We relish the challenges this type of project brings and we cannot wait to showcase the finished article on completion.

New Glamping PODS in Crich

Energi Consulting Services Ltd are continuing our services to the Nottingham Diocesan Catholic Youth Services (NDCYS) to design MEP services for the new Glamping PODS camping site at "The Briars" in Crich. NDCYS are adding 6No new PODS to a dedicated glamping area on their existing site. The work also includes a new 14 space visitor parking area.

Refurbishment of Hebron Block

Energi Consulting Services Ltd have secured a new commission from the Nottingham Diocesan Catholic Youth Services (NDCYS) to design MEP services for the alterations and refurbishment of the Hebron Block at "The Briars" in Crich. We shall be fully designing the mechanical, electrical & public health (MEP) services to enable the client to obtain estimates from contractors and to ensure the installation is fully co-ordinated on site.

The holiday site is run by the Catholic Youth Centre and houses 4000 11yr+ children per year. Our aim is to upgrade the facility to hotel standards with a view to incorporate energy efficiency at every opportunity.

Assisted Living Flats Nottingham

Energi Consulting Services Ltd are delighted to have been selected as the preferred provider of MEP design services for a new build independent living development in Nottingham. The new development will be 34 new flats catering for residents in excess of 55 years old providing independent living with additional capacity for some 'extra care' accommodation. Demolition of the existing buildings is under way and construction shall start October 2020. Energi shall also be carrying out the necessary Building Regulations compliance guidance, SBEM calculations, SAP calculations and thermal modelling to check overheating.

New Refurbishment Project Win

Energi Consulting Services Ltd have secured a new commission from the Diocese Of Derby to convert this 200 year old former school building into a new meeting and training facility for the church. The building is located in Ashford-in-the-Water, a small village in Derbyshire set within a rural conservation area. We shall be fully designing the mechanical, electrical & public health (MEP) services to enable the client to obtain estimates from contractors and to ensure the installation is fully co-ordinated on site.

The Architect aims to retain many of the existing architectural features like covings and dado strips whilst upgrading the construction elements to current building regulations.

We relish the challenges this type of project brings and we cannot wait to showcase the finished article on completion.

Electric Vehicle Charging Installation (Phase 1)

Installation work continues apace

Installation work continues apace for phase 1 of our electric vehicle charging scheme designed for Nottingham City Council. Phase 1 provides 18No new charging sockets via 9No new EV charging pedestals.

The phase 1 installation also includes a new 1000kVA transformer by Western Power Distribution and a new low voltage switchroom. The new switchroom, which was fully designed and set out by Energi Consulting Services Ltd , shall include a new bespoke floor standing MCCB switchboard.

Split over two buildings the development includes en-suite cluster flats, communal kitchens, laundry, games room, study rooms, lounges and a cinema. New Theatre Area

Energi Consulting Services Ltd have completed MEP design services for a new veterinary practice located in Etwall Derbyshire. The former health service building has been completely transformed providing new state of the art animal care. We had to work very closely with the client providing detailed drawings to ensure that the services were all located in the correct location and co-ordinated with the specialist equipment. New school under construction

Redcar & Cleveland PFI schools project consisted of 3No new secondary schools and 2No new primary schools constructed by Mowlem for Redcar & Cleveland Council.

Energi Consulting Services Ltd carried out monthly site inspections where we checked the design & installation of the electrical and mechanical building services. We gave immediate advice to the building team as we walked around the site, pointing out possible issues as we saw them. We provided a report backed up with photographs to emphasise relevant points where appropriate. We also signed off the M&E installations on completion to ensure the final installation met with the specification, room data sheets and current regulations.

Hatton Apartment Block

Mount View is a residential development constructed by Lovell Partnerships Ltd in Nottingham which consists of a respite care centre, 2No apartment blocks and a mixture of house types with varying tenure agreements.

Energi Consulting Services Ltd provided a performance specification for the mechanical and electrical building services within the apartment blocks and respite care centre. Working with the developer we were able to advise on all building services issues and requirements. We also provided an external lighting design for the whole site.

We also provided mechanical & electrical co-ordinated tender plans for each house type to enable Lovell to obtain a fixed price quotation for the M&E installation work from their subcontractors.

High Tor Hotel, Matlock

High Tor Hotel prior to refurbishment

High Tor Hotel is a grade II listed property located opposite the 'High Tor' cliff in Matlock Derbyshire. Energi Consulting Services Ltd were recommended to the client Total Estates Ltd by another of our existing clients. The property has been totally reconstructed internally whilst maintaining the existing protected historic features and consists of 15 Guest rooms, new kitchen, bar and lounges. There are also plans for a spa retreat behind the existing property for wedding guests to rent exclusively.

Energi Consulting Services Ltd provided a full M&E design for the project and included an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). Low running costs being a priority we have utilised energy saving lighting and controls, high efficiency gas fire heating, combination boiler fed hot water and each room has an energy saving system based upon room occupancy. The property location and National Heritage restrictions limited the low carbon technologies that we could apply to the building services.

Boiler & BEMS Replacement

New Boiler Installation

The gas fired heating plant and associated controls at Ashfield District Council's head office were old and in-efficient. The Council were looking for someone to assist them firstly, in deciding what type of boiler plant should be used and secondly to design & manage the installation.

Energi Consulting Services Ltd provided a feasibility study with boiler plant options appraisal. We carried out a thorough site survey to assess the load requirements and details of the existing building energy management system (BEMS). The report included budget costs and the associated carbon emissions for various boiler plant options.

Energi Consulting Services Ltd were also employed as lead consultants for the installation works design and management. We provided full design M&E specifications and drawings to enable the client to get competitive quotes for the works. We then monitored the installation works as it progressed and attended site meetings on behalf of the client.

New Community Centre

New Reception Area

Ashfield District Council received National Lottery funding for the redevelopment of the community centre on Acacia Avenue in Kirkby-in-Ashfield. The existing community centre was part demolished, refurbished and extended to 2006 building regulations standards. The new community centre will offer a flexible multifunction space with catering facilities for the local community to use and also includes the local radio broadcaster Ashfield Radio's studio, workshops and offices.

Energi Consulting Services Ltd provided a full M&E design and management services for the project. We looked to include as many low carbon technologies as was feasible, the main factor which limited the scope for these technologies was the threat of vandalism. We did however manage to incorporate ground source heat pump, air source heat pumps, high efficiency lighting and controls, water recycling system and high efficiency heat recovery ventilation system.

We carried out thorough site surveys to ascertain the extent of the existing building services. We liaised with the stores to ascertain the interface requirements between the new franchises and the stores existing building services. We also provided indicative plans for building regulations approval and fire officer comments.

The Glades is a residential development constructed by Lovell Partnerships Ltd in Nottingham which consists of an apartment block with 13No apartments and a mixture of house types with varying tenure agreements.

Energi Consulting Services Ltd provided fully co-ordinated design drawings and a specification for the mechanical and electrical building services within the apartment block. Our design included the internal and external landlord's areas and a detailed co-ordinated plan for each apartment. We also liaised with specialist smoke extract engineers to ensure the fire precautions were in accordance with building controls requirements.

We also provided mechanical & electrical co-ordinated tender plans for each house type to enable Lovell to obtain a fixed price quotation for the M&E installation work from their subcontractors.
